Labor Day Weekend

4:38:00 PM

Last weekend Megan, Susan, Kloi, and I packed up the car and headed for my hometown of Santa Rosa for a break from the city, and some sun and relaxation! I am definitely a representation of the cliche of college students who seem to adore their hometowns only after they leave them. I truly never realized what a gem Santa Rosa is until I left it. Its an hour from SF, beautiful, in good proximity to the mountains, the beach, and wine - really what more could I want? I was pretty excited to show it off to my friends.

Saturday: We got stuck in major Labor Day traffic on the drive which was a major bummer, but thank god for Kloi and her dj skills to keep us entertained.

By the time we hit Rhonert Park we were starving, so I took them to Amy's Drive Through, a healthy fast food place made by Amy's brand. Everything is vegetarian and has dairy free and gluten free options. Not only is this a super cool idea, but it is also delicious, I highly recommend it!

Next stop was home! We laid by the pool all afternoon in the beautiful weather. I was so happy to be home and so happy to hangout with my dog and my friends adored floating around in the pool.

For dinner we went to my favorite mexican restaurant, La Rosa, because I dream about their delicious tortilla chips and just couldn't pass up an opportunity to have them. Then we hung out and indulged Kloi's Stranger Things addiction.

Sunday: We spent another glorious day by the pool trying to combat that pale San Franciscan glow. Then for the sunset we drove out to Bodega Bay and had Mary's Pizza Shack takeout between pictures - the perfect combo! We made a pit stop at Screaming Mimi's in Sebastapool and as usual it didn't disappoint.

Monday: As per Kloi's request we drove out through Kenwood and the vineyards to my favorite brunch place, Garden Court Cafe in Glen Ellen. It is truly the cutest little family-run place that serves up some of the best breakfast food around.

After stuffing our faces we made a pit stop for a little photo shoot in the vineyards. We rounded out this gluttony with a stop at Dutch Bros because Megan needs to feed her addiction ;) and what's a trip to Norcal without it?

Next I took them to my high school to stop their incessant interest in my "california school" where they ooooed and ahhhed at the outdoor lockers, open quad, and how it looked "just like a movie set"! Ha, if they only knew.

We were sad to end our weekend in the sun but we came back a  little tanner, a little more relaxed, and with a few more inside jokes, and a lot more pictures! I am so blessed by the friends I've found in San Francisco! Love you three (and Soleil we missed you!).
